The Volvo questions to ask first
Volvo XC40, XC60 and XC90 seat gap: airbag and seat checks
- Is the space beside the seat meant to stay clear? Volvo seats can have side airbags. Read the seat and airbag section of your owner’s manual before putting anything beside the seat. If it says to keep the space clear, do not fit a filler.
- Will it block the seat’s movement? Volvo front seats are often power-adjustable with a memory function. A filler must not catch as the seat moves or recalls its position.
- Is your gap wider than a normal filler? The cars vary, from small XC40s to large XC90s, so the gap does too. Measure yours instead of guessing.
- Can you still reach the buckle? Do not cover or jam it.

- It copes with wide gaps. The wide end handles gaps up to about 6.5 cm (2.5 in). The tool tells you plainly if yours is wider.
