This page explains what CarSeatGapFiller.com (“we”, “us”) does with your personal information when you visit the site, write to us or place an order. We tried to keep it plain. If something is unclear, email us and we’ll explain. CarSeatGapFiller.com. Mailing address: New York
The short version
- We collect only what we need to answer you, ship your order and keep the site running.
- We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it to build advertising profiles.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It does not collect your name or email, and we don’t use it for advertising.
- The photo you use in our measuring tool stays on your device.
- If you choose to share your gap sizes, we store the sizes and the vehicle you picked, with no photo, name or email, to learn how gaps differ between cars.
What we collect, and when
- When you write to us. The contact form sends us your name, email address, vehicle details and whatever you type in your message. Emailing [email protected] gives us your email address and message the same way.
- When you order. Your name, shipping and billing address, email, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered. Your card details go to our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Automatically. Our web host records standard server logs: your IP address, browser type, device type and the pages requested. We use these for security and to fix problems.
The Measure Your Gap tool
When you pick a photo in the measuring tool, it’s processed in your own browser. It isn’t uploaded, and we don’t get a copy. The points you tap and the measurements you see stay on your device too, unless you copy the summary and send it to us yourself.
What we use it for
- Replying to your questions and giving support.
- Processing, shipping and supporting your orders, including returns and refunds.
- Keeping the site secure and working.
- Meeting legal, tax and accounting requirements.
Who else sees it
Only the companies that help us run the shop, and only the parts they need: our web host (IONOS), our payment processor, shipping carriers, and our email provider. We may also share information if a law, court order or legal process requires it. We don’t sell personal information and we don’t share it for cross-context advertising.
Cookies and outside content
We use only the cookies WordPress and WooCommerce need to work, such as remembering what’s in your cart. Google Analytics, which we run through Google Site Kit, sets cookies in your browser to count visits and show us which pages are used. We don’t run advertising cookies. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google’s servers to get them and Google can see your IP address when it does. Links on this site may lead to other websites, and their privacy practices are their own.
How long we keep it
Messages stay as long as we need them to answer you. Order records stay as long as tax and accounting rules require. If you ask us to delete something and the law lets us, we will.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. You don’t have to give a reason. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We won’t treat you differently for asking.
To make a request, email [email protected] from the address we have on file. We may need to confirm it’s you before we act, and we’ll reply within a reasonable time.
Children
This site is for adults buying a car accessory. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us and we’ll delete it.
Security
The site uses HTTPS and we rely on reputable providers. No system is completely secure, though, so we can’t promise perfect protection.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll post the new version here with an updated date.
